Spring Ladybird Nails | 100th design!

Spring Ladybird Nails!

Rating: *****

This is our 100th design on this blog! Thank you to those of you who have stuck around since the beginning and those of you who have only just discovered us - enjoy! Here's to another 100 designs...

Finished Nails
Tools

I used:
  • Collection 2000 5 Fire Engine Red
  • Collection 2000 103 French White
  • Color Show 749 Electric Yellow
  • Miss Beauty 355 Neon Green
  • Kiko 041 Brown
  • Barry M Blackjack
  • Essence 01 Absolute Pure
  • Masking tape
  • Small dotting tool
  • Small paintbrush

Step 1

Stick the tape over most your nail and paint the tip red. Remove the tape immediately to stop it pulling the varnish off.

Step 2

Using a small dotting tool, or a cocktail stick, paint white dots on the red section of your nail.

Step 3

Using the paintbrush, paint 4 teardrops all pointing towards the centre of the flower, slightly offset to one side of your nail.

Step 4

Using the dotting tool add a yellow dot in the centre of the petals.

Step 5

I didn't have the right shade of green so I mixed together some of the lime green and the brown on a palette until I had the right shade. Then, using the paintbrush, create a swipe and two teardrops. You may need to do two or more coats to get it thick enough.

Step 6

Using the paintbrush, draw a semicircle above the flower on your ring fingers.

Step 7

Add tiny dots to the semicircle.

Step 8

Using the paintbrush, add a black dot to the same side as the leaves. Then add two curls going up, for the antennae. Also, add a top coat to smooth it out and give it a nice shine.

Blue Spotted Nails!

Blue Spotted Nails!

Rating: *

Finished Nails
Tools

I used:
  • Rimmel 60 Seconds 703 White Hot Love
  • Revlon 050 Surf Spray
  • New Look Deep Navy
  • Rimmel Finishing Touch Ultra Shine Top Coat
  • Small dotting tool (or a skewer)

Step 1

Paint your nails with a base coat to protect them - I used the white for this. Paint all your nails, except the ring finger, with the light blue. I had to use several coats with this nail varnish as it isn't very thick.

Step 2

Paint your ring fingers with the dark blue.

Step 3

Using the dotting tool (or a skewer if you don't have one), paint three dark blue dots down the centre of each of the pale blue nails.

Step 4

Using the dotting tool again (make sure you clean it first) paint three light blue dots down the centre of the dark blue nails.

Finally, cover your nails in the top coat to protect them.

Spotty Christmas Nails!

Spotty Christmas Nails!

Rating: **

Another really belated Christmas design..!

Finished Nails
Tools

I used:

  • Collection 2000 19 Berry Hot
  • LM Nail Polish 58
  • LM Nail Polish 79
  • LM Nail Polish 7
  • Dotting tool
  • Paintbrush

Step 1

Paint your nails red. You will probably want a base coat underneath this to protect your nails from being stained.

Step 2

Paint a small bit of glitter at the tip of each nail. Make it thicker at one end than the other.

Step 3

Using the paintbrush, paint a thin white line along the top of the glitter. It should only touch one edge of your nail.

Step 4

Using the dotting tool, paint a row of white dots along the top of the line.

Finally cover the design in a top coat to protect it.
