Double Chevron Nails!

Rating: **

Finished Nails

Tools

I used:
  • Barry M 634 Raspberry
  • Barry M 632 Gold Digger
  • Barry M Blackjack
  • Sinful Colours 903 Top Shine
  • Masking tape
  • Small metal tipped paintbrush

Step 1

Paint your nails with the red nail varnish.

Step 2

Using the masking tape, mark out a V shape at the base of your nail and paint it gold. Remove the tape immediately so the nail varnish doesn't pull.

Step 3

Using the paintbrush, add a thin black line around the gold triangle.

Finally, cover your nails in the top coat to protect them.

Purple Crossed Nails!

Purple Crossed Nails!

Rating: ***

Finished Nails
Tools

I used:
  • Barry M 348 Prickly Pear
  • Cairuo Blueberry 13
  • Rimmel 430 Porcelain
  • Cairuo Top Coat
  • Masking tape
  • Small paintbrush

Step 1

Paint your nails with the pale purple.

Step 2

Stick a corner of the tape over the two sides of your nail and paint over your whole nail in the dark purple to make this effect. Peel the tape off immediately so it doesn't pull off the edges of the dark purple.

Step 3

Using the paintbrush, paint white crosses across your nails.

Step 4

Cover your nails in the top coat. Surprisingly, it actually brings out the dark purple a lot - in the photo below, the finger on the right has a top coat on and the one on the left does not!

Chequered Chevron Nails!

Chequered Chevron Nails!

Rating: *****

Finished Nails
Tools

Tools:
  • Colletion 2000 5 Fire Engine
  • Black Stamping Polish
  • Cllection 2000 Blackjack 2
  • H&M Sparkling Silver
  • Colour Cosmetic 07 Top Coat
  • Stamping tool
  • Tape
  • Diamond gems
  • Paintbrush

Step 1

Paint your nails red.

Step 2

Using the stamp and the black stamping polish, paint the small squares on the base of your nail. Make sure you cover at least half the nail, but it doesn't need to be precise as you will paint over the tips in a minute.

Step 3

Place a piece of tape over the squares, with a corner in the middle of your nail, and then paint over your nails with the black nail varnish. Remove the tape immediately after painting the nail.

Step 4

Using a paintbrush, paint a silver line along the edge of the black nail varnish.

Step 5

Stick a diamond gem onto the centre of each nail, below the point of the black, using a generous amount of top coat.

Cover your nails in a thick top coat to prevent the gem coming off too easily.

Christmas Glitter Tips!

Christmas Glitter Tips!

Rating: ***

A little bit late for Christmas but better late than never!

Finished Nails
Tools

I used:

  • Collection 2000 Top Coat Sparkle with Gloss Enhancer
  • Barry M 245
  • 17 Green
  • La Femme Jupiter 84
  • LM Nail Polish 7
  • Tape
  • Star shaped gems

Step 1

Paint your nails with the sparkly top coat.

Step 2

Stick the tape across the top half of your nail, diagonally, and paint the tips with the gold. Remove the tape immediately to avoid peeling or stretching the nail varnish.

Step 3

Paint over the gold parts with the green glitter. There is no need to use tape for this step as it doesn't need to be perfect.

Step 4

Paint over this again but with the red glitter. Again, there is no need to use tape.

Step 5

Cover the whole design in the top coat, and then stick a small star in the top corner of each nail.

Finally, cover the whole design in another top coat, making it quite thick, to ensure the star doesn't fall off.
